Testimonials - Ventoux

Mont Ventoux, Jun '15

I was just 12-years-old when I watched Pantani battle it out with Lance on Ventoux's famous white slopes, and even then, its legendary status was clear. Collecting us from Nimes airport, Polocini pointed out the 'Geant of Provence' dominating the skyline and I almost didn't believe him. It has to be seen - and ridden - to be believed.

No fuss, no unboxing of bikes, just total immersion in the amazing scenery you're about to ride. The hotel is straight off some postcard from Provence, situated between olive groves and a sleepy village in view of the mountain. Waking up there and having breakfast in the sun before a ride, the excitement among the group is palpable. Some are excited, some are nervous; it doesn't matter either way, because Polocini know this place like locals, and they have everything on hand to support you all the way.

Riding over our names, painted across the road from Bedoin, as we head for the iconic observatory tower is something I'll never forget. And the feeling at the top? I'm not sure I'll ever enjoy myself on a bike as much again.
