Stelvio Pass Cycle Tour 2017 - June

This ride is now sold out. Please email to be added to the standby list.

Sunday 18th - 23rd June 2017.

The Stelvio Pass isn't just one of the most iconic climbs in cycling but is one of the most famous roads in the world.

With five days of riding this trip isn't all about the Stelvio though as we also ride the fantastic Gavia Pass, the fearsome Mortirolo and the final day is spent sampling some of the Il Lombardia course with a visit to the Santuario Del Ghisallo and cycling museum.

We are based in Bormio for the first four nights and stay in an excellent four star hotel which has a well equipped bike garage with cycle workshop and bike wash area. We start each day with a nice big cyclist friendly buffet breakfast and finish with three course meals which are included in the cost of the trip. Also included is access to the Wellness Centre where you can use the sauna, gym, steam room and jacuzzi.

The final night is spent in Malgrate in another four star hotel which overlooks Lake Como. This enables us to have five days of riding and avoids any long airport transfers.

We will transfer your bike and luggage to Italy so there's no faffing about with bike boxes or the added expense of airline baggage fees.

You will be fully supported on your rides with our vehicles carrying everything you need from an extra layer to an emergency bag of Jelly Babies!

We take plenty of photos and video each day. Here is a selection from the Stelvio, Gavia and Mortirolo

Full details can be found below and as always with any Polocini tour we limit rider numbers and our trips are always planned to ensure maximum ride enjoyment.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL RIDES CAN BE CHANGED SHOULD THERE BE ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS. WE HAVE FOUR DAYS TO COVER THE THREE CLIMBS. For example if the weather is poor on the Stelvio but clear on the Mortirolo then we will adjust our plans accordingly. With each of the climbs you have the option to climb both sides or just one side and ride back to Bormio.

MONDAY: THE STELVIO - Route map and profile

We conquer both sides of the Stelvio with a lunch stop in Prato allo Stelvio where a visit to the ice cream parlour was a highlight of last years hot ride!!

TUESDAY: GAVIA - Route map and profile

Both sides, with a nice lunch in Ponte di Legno. Watch out for the Marmots on the descent!

WEDNESDAY: MORTIROLO - Route map and profile

We start the ascent from Mazzo di Valtellina which is the hardest of the three ways to climb the Mortirolo and passes the Pantani corner.

THURSDAY: Free day for a ride of your choice. We haven't scheduled a ride for this day to allow for changes to any of the previous climbs. It may be that you want to climb the Stelvio or Gavia again or have an easy morning.

Late afternoon we will make the short transfer to Malgrate, Lake Como.

FRIDAY 23RD JUNE - Easy spin to Bellagio, climb the Madonna Del Ghisallo and visit the cycling musuem. This is the perfect finish to the tour.
