Winter Training Camp 2017 - February
Details of our 2018 Training Camps will be available soon. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to receive details.
SATURDAY 11TH UNTIL SATURDAY 18TH FEBRUARY 2017.
At Polocini we are often asked if we are running any early season training camps in Spain or somewhere sunny. The answer is always no as you can book a cheap flight and sort it yourself easy enough.
Going to warmer climes, staying in a soulless hotel or riding up Mountains makes no sense to us when our cycling season starts with the Spring Classics. We build into the longer rides and Mountains as the year goes on before riding our Grand Tours later in the year.
First we head to Belgium to build base miles and prepare for the cycling season. There is every type of terrain and with quiet, traffic free roads it's a fantastic place to ride. Flanders is famous for cobbles but they are easily avoided. There is a myth that riding around the area is all about cobbles.
All transport and logistics are taken care of as we transport you, your bike and luggage to Belgium via the Eurotunnel. There is no need to bag your bike as we have plenty of room in our support vehicle.
We stay at the perfect cycling accommodation which often houses several pro cyclists. It is self catering with a large bike room, well equipped kitchen, laundry area, wifi and is in the very quiet town of Nokere just outside Oudenaarde.
We will do a trip to the local town and supermarket each day at 5pm. There are many excellent restaurants nearby that we can recommend.
We know all of the best bike shops and if there is anything you need we can help.
Saturday 11th February - Collection from pre-arranged points in the U.K and then we will travel to Belgium. Relaxing evening meal at a local restaurant.
Sunday 12th - Easy day where we will take you out and show you the best roads, climbs and of course coffee stops.
For the rest of the week we recommend you ride the terrain and distances to suit your specific cycling goals. If you choose to join our daily rides you need to be aware that it will be wet, windy and have some proper hard riding. This is not a holiday.
Our daily rides will be a minimum of five hours per day. There will also be one day where we travel to Roubaix and ride a 140km route which takes in around twenty pave sectors.
We can help you plan rides and there are many signposted cycling routes that are easy to follow. We are staying on the 103km Tour of Flanders YELLOW ROUTE.
Saturday 18th - Pack up and head back to the UK.
- Seven nights of self catering accommodation based on two sharing.
